Monday 5th - Friday 9th April
Not last week the week before I started animating the walk cycle for my piece called CodeName.
And upon reflection over my time working on MI6 I realized I didn't want the horses to walking anymore.
It already looked to cluttered and I could tell it was going to distract from the rest of the piece.
I also had feedback that in my previous animation, that I had framed my characters badly so you couldnt tell what was behind the main horse (this being being a min character it should not have been so hidden).
Everything also felt to head which I feel was cause by my choice to have them walking and trying to have 4 characters at once.
After a bit of research on how to make an appealing shot I started to watch a few videos on the rule of 3rds and it is a game changer.
I could achieve a better layout if I dropped one of my characters and posed the walk so it lines up with the rule of 3rds. however I know I wanted to keep all of the characters as the grumy one on the right mikes the hmm sound and the horse on the left will life the character on the back, off and on to the ground, should I choose to extend the piece.
So I scrapped the walk cycle and just quickly blocked out new poses using the rule of 3rds and it immediately felt better.
The then spend to the rest of the week blocking out all the basic poses using my LAV's
