Team Meeting - Presentation Day

Updated: Nov 25, 2020

Wednesday 4th November

On Friday I was just waiting for Cavan and Tira to send in their work.

Over the weekend I managed to turn the reams of information we had gathered in to and functioning PowerPoint and a script for myself to read from.

I also used a free software to design a few logos for our company and put it to a pole for the team to choose their fav. (We decided on the second image)

On Monday I had arranged a team meeting for the other two to send in their work for me to finish up the whole presentation and both sent in their work and I was pleasantly surprised with a content.

Tira Also volunteered to present with me which was very nice and took a huge weight off my shoulders as presenting on your own for 15 minutes straight was going to be hard, so the offer was a welcome relief.

So I arranged a read through with myself and Tira for the following day (Tuesday) and got to work adding the new information I had been provided as well as dividing the PowerPoint in to even content for both of us to read.

On Tuesday me and Tira read through the PowerPoint and it timed at almost exactly 15 minutes which was perfect and we were much more confident in our content and delivery after the run through and were ready for the presentation today.

The final presentation went very well and I am so pleased with how we did.

There were a couple of minor hiccups with audio connection and slide turning but they were minor and I don't think will affect us in any way.

The feed back we got was good, we had chosen a to bigger company to copy our business model from but apart from that we did well.

From this experience I learnt that if I find myself the unappoint leader of a group I need to really take charge and not tip toe around people as this is what I initially did in the beginning and found myself and a couple of other members being the ones doing the bulk of the work. But after firming up and taking charge I managed to pull together a good team, great content from my team and a good presentation.
